HOME SWEET HOME
This piece is contradictory to the title “Home Sweet Home”. This piece is inspired by the stories of friends of mine that have struggled through physical and emotional battles in the home. A house is a strong symbol of love, shelter, safety and identity. As it is all of those things, it can also be the opposite. The mouse trap and the bullets are symbols of the abuse and control that happens to the innocent. The victims are forever carrying the emotional weight of the “home”.
